Michael K. Lappe is a retired Chicago Police officer who retired from CPD on a service pension after more than 38 years of experience.  Extremely critically injured in a shooting incident, Mike rehabbed himself and returned to limited duty.  He currently serves as an elected retirement board trustee and a past adjunct professor in criminal justice.  He has a master’s degree in Public Safety Administration and is considered an expert in disability pensions for police officers.  Mike is an active participant in educational programs for the Illinois Public Pension Fund Association (IPPFA) and currently serves as the elected retired trustee for The Retirement Board Policemen’s Annuity and Benefit Fund, City of Chicago.
